The Old Way vs. the Share Link Way
Every tax season follows the same pattern. You compile your rental property numbers, create a spreadsheet or PDF, email it to your accountant, and wait. They reply with questions. You update the file. You email a new version. They open the wrong attachment. Two weeks later, you are on version four and nobody is sure which file is current.
RentalReportLab replaces that entire cycle with a single link. Click "Share" on any report, copy the URL, and send it to your CPA. They open it in their browser and see a live, read-only view of your Schedule E report showing $32,400 in rental income, $18,600 in expenses, and $13,800 in net profit, all mapped to the correct IRS lines.
If you update your data (maybe you found a $450 receipt for a December repair), the report at the share link updates too. Your accountant always sees the latest numbers without you sending another file.
How It Works
Generate a Report
Create a Schedule E, P&L, SREO, or Property Performance report from your dashboard. Select the properties and date range to include.
Click Share
Hit the Share button to generate a unique, read-only URL. The link is active immediately and expires after 90 days. Copy it to your clipboard with one click.
Send to Your Accountant
Email or text the link to your CPA. They open it in any browser and see the full report. No login, no downloads, no account needed.
Security and Control
Sharing financial data requires trust and control. RentalReportLab gives you both:
- •Read-only access: recipients can view the report but cannot edit, delete, or download your underlying data. They see totals and line items, not individual transaction records.
- •90-day expiration: every share link deactivates automatically after 90 days. Your financial data is not floating around the internet forever.
- •Instant revocation: if you need to cut off access before the 90 days, revoke the link from your reports page. The link stops working immediately.
- •Per-report links: each share link is tied to one specific report. Sharing your 2025 Schedule E does not give access to your P&L, your SREO, or any other report.
- •No account required: your accountant never creates a RentalReportLab account. They access the report through a unique URL, nothing more.
